Unlike many milled feeds, Equine holistic natural horse feed is made using whole grains. Using the entire grain, ensures that all of the nutritional value from the germ and hulls of the grain are captured in the feed. Wysong has combined a unique formula including corn, oats, barley, wheat and soy to provide a wide selection of natural whole food nutrients. Other whole food products such as dried kelp, natural cane molasses, ground flax seed and soybean oil balance out the requirements for healthy fats and carbohydrates needed by domestic horses. Wysong has also been careful to include the complete spectrum of vitamins and minerals that would be obtained through a wild diet. Manufacturing Processes

Wysong Equine feed is easily digestible, not only because of the high quality ingredients but because of the manufacturing processes. A patented method known as HSTS extrusion is used to process the ingredients which need to be heated to ensure ease of digestion. Ingredients such as grains and ground legumes are heated to allow them to be more easily assimilated by the horse’s stomach and intestines. Other ingredients such as probiotics are added as a final step after the heat extrusion to preserve their activity. Most manufacturers use an all-in-one process which may be harder to digest or will destroy nutrient value.
